• As founder-director of the Foundation for Economic Research Rotterdam, Stichting Economisch Onderzoek Rotterdam/SEOR, 1987-1998, led and directed at one time a research institution of 40 staff members.
  
• Chairman of the Department of Micoeconomics and Economic Systems in the period 1988-94, and Vice-Chairman of the Department of General Economics in the period 1995-98.
